Unadorned 06:07
Spend all day creating scenarios in our head. Wondering if we’ll stay clean and clothed and fed. This shouldn't be in the land of the free. We’re building walls between love and hate But we're ending up on the wrong side of the gate. All too depraved for the home of the Brave. If there ever was a time If there ever was a time where we should stick together If there ever was a time the time is NOW.

If I were to tell you That I knew a way To Rid yourself of all the pain Throw sorrow away Would you take it without saying a word Even though you can’t take it back? Nobody promised you happiness And you realize as it all fades to black If I were to show you The things you’d throw away To rid yourself of all the pain You’d destroy more than you’d create.

The Rabbit had breakfast with The Fox They dined on bagels and lox The Rabbit felt ill, so he took a pill Then he threw up on Mr. Fox, poor Mr. Fox

The Mind I 05:38
I remember a time when I saw a man Carefully writing something on his hand I sat down beside him and I strained for a look It read “If you remember you must write a book.” I looked at his eyes, all I saw was straight black I knew that it would be a while before he’d come back I gathered my things, I had all my fun I left the man to think about the book he’d write when he was done Oh, the way it goes Starts out slow and then overflows The walls of the Mind, try to fix mankind Trying to see properly all the things that everyone sees wrong. It’s a beautiful thing, the feeling you get Being straightforward without an ounce of regret The Mind’s pacing faster than it ever will be No need to stop it now because it’s finally free Take hold of the thoughts more profound than the rest Recalling all those in the end is the only real test Be careful where you stray, don’t ruin all the fun Or a lot will change about the book you’ll write when you are done Oh, the way it goes Starts out slow and then overflows The walls of the Mind, try to fix mankind Trying to see properly all the things that everyone sees wrong. Sometimes it takes a turn all for the worse You start to lose control and lose all your words The walls close in and it seems you are stuck Trying to speak all you utter is fuck All alone you start to explore Until it’s over you’ll have to endure.

Woke up this morning and what did I see Death and despair staring straight at me The ground is cold and the sky is black There’s no glimpse of normalcy coming back Blood on the sidewalk and smog in the air The fingers all point but the blames not shared If they just did what we’re supposed to do There’d be none of this craziness coming through Stand up for your right to do wrong But all night is wasted and gone Seize the day (I’ll see you soon on the far side of the moon) Seize the Day (Don’t run astray, just seize the day) Yesterday was better and today is so bad No one is trying this is so sad People hate eachother and it’s a sin The entrusted ones stand there with a grin We’re shooting eachother like its not a crime Everyone’s screaming for a reason why But if they all walked in the other ones shoes There’d be a lot less trouble coming down on you Stand Up for your right to do right x2 Seize the day (I’ll see you soon on the far side of the moon) Seize the Day (Don’t run astray, just seize the day) x2

I can’t clearly see the things you do That make me feel like you And I won’t clearly listen to the things you say That make me feel this way I’ll avoid troubled eyes who can’t see through the lies But never stray from that point of view I’m caught in the cross-hairs of a meaningful stare That’ll always have me so subdued Considering the source of your remorse You chose the right horse but went the wrong course A feeling I feel most returns as a ghost And greets its gentle host with a toast When is the right time to commit this crime And show me what it means to be mine My intentions refuse to permit this abuse If it doesn’t make a fool out of you then what’s the use?

about

These 38-minutes were recorded at VuDu Studios by one of Long Island’s favorite producers and engineers, Frank Mitaritonna. It is packed with almost every genre that has been associated with A Band In Ship; riff-driven hard rock, punchy reggae, funky grooves and the occasional ethereal soundscape. From Steve’s ska/punk-heavy background to Nick’s funkiness, Mike’s prog-tendencies to James’ Grateful-disposition, The Ark will be a great cross section of what to expect from the supporting live shows.
